Step 1: Career exploration
OCG introduces learners to the idea of self-understanding, career information gathering and decision making.

Helping young people understand career pathways and make informed education choices.

This programme is designed to help learners make more informed education and career decisions while they are still in school. It combines orientation, aspiration mapping, role-model engagement and follow-up activities so career guidance becomes a process rather than a once-off talk.
OCG begins by introducing the career exploration process. Learners are helped to think about their interests, abilities, strengths and the realities of different career pathways. Schools also work with OCG through designated teacher representatives so the support is better coordinated.

Students complete aspiration forms so OCG and the school can appreciate the career areas learners are most interested in.
OCG returns with sessions tailored to the career choices students have expressed.
Professionals, entrepreneurs and tertiary students are invited to speak directly to learners and answer practical questions.
Teachers and OCG officers follow up through discussions, debates, quizzes and action planning.
